Wikipedia - Teachers' Treasure Trove

Since the day I met Sebastian Panakal, an Alumnus of Santa Cruz School, I have fallen in love with Wikipedia. I am keen on developing a Wiki culture of sharing and caring. Sebastian is a Wiki Facilitator. He is now mentoring our school.

Here is one of the reasons I love Wikipedia.


Sebastian is also the Founder of Women of Wiki. He uses it as his women empowerment platform.

CLASS: Connected Learning Activities through Social Service is an impressive global project Sebastian is currently working at; Santa Cruz School is collaborating with him at his Greening with Love activity.


  1. Santa Cruz students shall present at The Global Student Conference this year.
  2. Santa Cruz students shall go on a cultural exchange this year.
  3. Santa Cruz shall set up the very first Global Teacher Garden.
    My Youtube Channel has a few videos of global educators who sent us best wishes as we invited them to collaborate with SCHSS on Friendship Day. We shall plant saplings named after them in our Global Teacher Garden at Santa Cruz! As I am a member of Hello Little World Skypers, I can invite any member there, connect a classroom abroad with my students at Santa Cruz and flip the classroom! Each connected learning will be followed up with planting a tree in honour of the connected learning. That should make our school globally popular, a must visit spot for overseas teachers!

The above three are our milestones this year.

Common Service Centre at SCHSS

"Each school should have a CSC at the Computer Lab of the school, run by the PTA" is a vision of Sebastian, my friend. He sees PTAs regular visit to run the Common Service Centre, a great support to the school. Parents will see how the school is run, help in its day to day activities. Income generated at the Computer Lab by the services given there could be a shot in the arm for the school. Above is the same project run at St. Alberts High School. Sebastian initiated this project there. The Common Service Centre can easily get license and support of Government of India; our Federal Government is all out to Digitize India, to make e-Governance a reality in India. Subair, Arabic teacher at our school, asked for an Akshaya Centre at Fort Cochin. Now our Mother PTA is launching a Common Service Centre at our school! Dreams of Cultural Exchange

Sebastian was a guest at the 100th Monument Day on 30 June 2017. On that day, I requested him to help our school. He went back and made a blog post Monumental Promise ! It is his style: Make tall claims, then make it happen!! He is now training Santa Cruz students to continue with the Student Entrepreneurship part. According to him, three of our students will go on a cultural exchange this year; he shall make sure of that! Target 2017-18 Santa Cruz School shall inaugurate Global Teacher Garden Santa Cruz School students shall present at The Global Student Conference Student Police Cadets (Ahmed, Akshay and Mohammed)  shall go abroad on cultural exchange to this school! I am super excited. With his support, I can role-model for my teachers. On his advise, I have enrolled for Skype Master Teacher , I want to be the first teacher in Kerala to become a Skype Master Teacher.
